My most recent compilation of work has evolved out of my study of indigenous peoples and practices from around the world, particularly ancient healing traditions as discovered by shamans through our early history to our current time.
The sculptures, as physical artifacts, developed as objects of emotional and spiritual significance, - symbols of the psyche, if you will. The portrait paintings are impressions from the emotive realm in which I live.
I liken myself to a traveler in artistic pursuit; the jungles and rainforest of South and Central America; the rural villages that dot the vast desert landscape of Morocco and Tunisia; the contrasts and contradictions disclosed in India; the island rhythms of the West Indies; the embolden heritage that makes up Europe, - these are the array of realities that I glean from.
